1. Who We Are

TriedSecureTest is an educational assessment administration platform operated by TriEd Research Associates LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains what information TriedSecureTest collects, how it is used, where it is stored and processed, how it may be shared with service providers, and the choices available to schools, educators, and students.

When a school or school district uses TriedSecureTest to administer assessments, the school or district controls the student education records involved. TriEd Research Associates LLC processes that information for the purpose of providing the assessment services requested by the school or educator and subject to applicable agreements, laws, and institutional requirements.

2. Information We Collect

Teacher account information. When a teacher creates an account we collect name, email address, school or organization affiliation, and the teacher's agreement to our Terms of Service and acknowledgment of this policy. Passwords are stored in hashed form and are never readable by us.

Assessment content. Assessment titles, descriptions, questions, written prompts, answer keys, rubrics, class periods, schedules, and integrity settings that teachers create, upload, paste, or import.

Optional Google account connection. If a teacher connects Google Drive or Google Forms to import assessment material, we receive and store the authorization token needed to read the files the teacher selects. Access is read-only.

Student submission data. The student's testing identifier (a testing ID by default, or a name or other identifier if the teacher selects that option), class period, multiple-choice answers, written responses, word counts, start and submission times, and tab-switch warning counts.

Pilot application information. If you apply for the pilot program, we collect your name, school district, email address, and phone number so we can respond.

Technical information. Our hosting platform generates standard operational logs, such as device and browser type, timestamps, and network address, for security and troubleshooting.

TriedSecureTest collects only information reasonably necessary to administer educational assessments and to operate, secure, and support the service. Student identification uses a testing ID by default when practical.

3. How We Use Information

  • • To create and administer teacher accounts and provide access to the platform.
  • • To administer assessments, including timing, attempt limits, and integrity monitoring configured by the teacher.
  • • To auto-score objective questions and to assist with written-response scores and feedback.
  • • To perform plagiarism or similarity analysis of written responses.
  • • To display results to the teacher, and to the student when the teacher releases feedback.
  • • To export results at the teacher's direction, such as to a Google Sheet.
  • • To respond to pilot applications, provide support, and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
  • • To meet applicable legal, contractual, and institutional obligations.

4. Automated Scoring and Plagiarism Detection

TriedSecureTest may use third-party artificial-intelligence and related technology services made available through its application infrastructure to assist with scoring written responses, generating criterion-level feedback, and performing plagiarism or similarity analysis.

When technically possible, student names and unnecessary identifying information should not be transmitted to artificial-intelligence providers as part of written-response analysis.

Written prompts and student responses may be processed by these services solely as necessary to provide the requested assessment functionality.

Plagiarism or similarity features may compare response text with publicly available Internet sources.

Automated scores are provisional. Teachers retain responsibility for reviewing, changing, or overriding automated scores. The teacher-approved score is the score of record.

TriedSecureTest does not represent automated scoring as a substitute for educator professional judgment.

5. Technology Infrastructure

TriedSecureTest uses third-party cloud infrastructure to provide application hosting, database services, authentication, security, monitoring, artificial-intelligence functionality, and related technical services.

The primary application infrastructure provider is Base44, operated by Wix.com Ltd.

Base44 states that application data is stored in the United States by default and publishes information concerning its security practices and subprocessors through its official Trust Center. Certain features may involve processing by authorized infrastructure providers or subprocessors in other jurisdictions.

TriEd Research Associates LLC does not operate its own physical data center.

6. Data Storage and Processing

Primary TriedSecureTest application data is stored using third-party cloud infrastructure.

The primary application infrastructure provider, Base44, states that application data is stored in the United States by default.

Authorized subprocessors may process information in the United States or other jurisdictions depending on the technical service being used.

Additional information concerning infrastructure security and subprocessors is available through the provider's official Trust Center at trust.base44.com.

Information is transmitted using encrypted connections where supported by the underlying infrastructure.

Application access is restricted according to user roles and permissions:

  • • Teachers should be able to access only assessments and responses associated with their authorized accounts and classes.
  • • Students should be able to access only assessment information and results authorized for them.
  • • Platform administrators may access records when reasonably necessary for support, security, system administration, legal compliance, or investigation of misuse.

7. When Information Is Shared

We do not sell teacher or student personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only as follows:

  • • With the school or district. Teachers and school or district administrators see the assessment content and responses within their own accounts.
  • • With authorized service providers. Infrastructure, infrastructure-provided tools, and the artificial-intelligence services described above process information on our behalf to provide the features you use.
  • • With connected accounts you authorize. If a teacher connects Google Drive or Google Forms, or exports results to Google Sheets, the selected material is exchanged with that account only because the teacher asked for it.
  • • For legal reasons. If required by law, contract, or institutional agreement, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of students, teachers, or the service.

The primary infrastructure provider identifies the subprocessors it uses to provide application infrastructure and publishes information regarding its security and data-processing practices through its official Trust Center. TriedSecureTest relies on that provider and other authorized service providers only as necessary to provide application functionality.

8. Student Privacy and Student Records

Assessments are administered at the direction of a school or district, which determines what student information is appropriate to provide and is responsible for obtaining any consent or authorization required before students use the platform.

TriedSecureTest does not require students to provide personal contact information in order to complete an assessment. A testing ID should be used by default when practical, and the platform collects only information reasonably necessary to administer educational assessments.

Teachers choose how students identify themselves. Student responses are visible to the teacher who created the assessment and to platform administrators as described above, and to the student when the teacher releases feedback.

TriEd Research Associates LLC does not claim ownership of student education records merely because they are processed through TriedSecureTest.

9. Security

We use organizational and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including encrypted transmission where supported, hashed passwords, per-teacher access rules on stored records, and passwords on individual assessments. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so we encourage schools to avoid placing unnecessary personal information in assessment content and to use testing IDs rather than student names where practical.

10. Security Incidents

TriEd Research Associates LLC takes suspected unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss of personal information seriously.

If TriedSecureTest becomes aware of a security incident affecting personal information, TriEd Research Associates LLC will investigate the incident and take reasonable corrective action.

When notification is required by applicable law, contract, or institutional agreement, TriedSecureTest will provide appropriate notification to affected schools, school districts, users, or other parties as required.

11. How Long Information Is Kept

Teacher account information is kept while the account is active. Assessment content and student responses may be retained while necessary to provide the service or until deleted by the authorized educator, school, district, or account administrator, subject to technical backup cycles, security requirements, legal obligations, and applicable institutional agreements. Pilot application information is kept for evaluation and follow-up. Server logs are kept for a limited operational period.

12. Your Choices and Requests

Teachers can update their account information, delete assessments, and delete individual submissions from within the platform. A school or district can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the records it controls, or ask us to stop processing them, by contacting us through the form on our home page or by email at triedassociates@att.net. We honor verified requests from schools and districts and will assist with requests made by parents or eligible students that come through the school.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be communicated to account holders.
